Community Green is an educational and community building project intended to facilitate the further development of each local community as a green/sustainable place to live. It will engage multi- generational and diverse community members in learning about, teaching and integrating green and sustainable principles and practices into all aspects of their lives, work, economy and community.

The first component being developed is the Community Green Guide - an online and print directory of local green/sustainable businesses, not-profits, and governmental agencies. The online version will also include a calendar, blog, kids area, opportunities for community service projects, articles, audio and video interviews by local content area experts offering information for 'greening' your home & garden, neighborhood, workplace, school, place of worship, transportation, and personal life. Our framework will be applied first in the Triangle, NC area, and then offered to other communities around North Carolina.
