The
guiding principles of the Procession are:
Diversity:
everyone is welcome- we want people of all ages and from all walks
of life - individuals, from schools, church and community groups.
Learning: there will be opportunites through
workshops to develop greater understanding of other species.
Engagement: there will be numerous workshops
in costume and mask making, music and dance for those who want to
directly participate, as well as volunteer opportunites to help
with organizing the event.
Sustainable practices: The procession
seeks to use recycled, natural, and donated materials for construction,
with low to no costs.
Community:
This is a community building process -you have opportunities to
meet and play with other people in your community as well as strengthening
your understanding of the larger natural community of which we are
a part.
"It is an intriguing success as far as environmental education
goes. It reaches into the urban audience to people we would never
get to in other ways."
