Processions Around the World

The Procession was created in Olympia, Washington in 1995 by Earthbound Productions, and has now been adopted by organizations in 15 other cities. Eartheal decided to create their own Procession in the Triangle because it is such a magical expression of our mission.

Hailed as 'the defining event' for the city, The 2002 Olympia Procession attracted 3,000 participants and 30,000 spectators. Eli Sterling, founder of Earthbound Productions and The Procession states that "The Procession is not an entertainment event, but rather a cultural exchange between the community and the natural world." He believes that "creation is a powerful antidote to the destruction we see around us…as we are far more willing to protect that which we create than that which we consume."
